Brindle Smokehouse

A smokehouse site built around what diners check first: what’s left today, the menu, and whether the doors are open.

Brindle Smokehouse is a fictional business. This concept design is original work by SITES BY JK, made to show how I’d approach a restaurant website. It isn’t a client project.

This is the working site. Scroll, tap and try it.

The approach

Brindle is a fictional barbecue restaurant. The design borrows from smokehouse signage: tall condensed type, warm charcoal and ember tones, and a menu printed on butcher paper. Instead of stock photos, a custom illustration keeps it original and fast to load.

What’s inside

  • A daily board that shows what’s available, running low or sold out
  • Tabbed menu that works with touch, mouse and keyboard
  • Smoke times shown as a chart drawn to scale
  • Open or closed status calculated from the restaurant’s local time
  • Custom illustration in place of stock photography
